For those of you who are not sure what the difference between a canker sore and a cold sore is, a canker sore shows up on the inside of one's mouth, and is not easy to get rid of. I've got a nasty one that just won't go away on my lower lip. Ugh, it's horrible. i've tried swirling salt water around in my mouth for a little bit each night for the last week or so, but that only makes the pain worse. any other remedies from anyone would be helpful.

salt water will keep down infections, have you thought about consulting the doctor?

If it's not gone by next Friday, yes, I'll go and get medical attention. They normally hang around anywhere from seven to ten days.

I had one over my winter break, came from eating too many warheads. It was just under the tip of my tongue too, ouch. I did the salt water trick. Drink some hot tea, that really helped it feel better for a while. I had mint!

it's a type of candy. After you put it in your mouth, it gets extremely sour, and after a while, it'll get sweeter. acid from certain citrus fruits and drinks can cause canker sores, I think.
